About Grace

Aesthetics and space have always been an important part of my life.
I grew up going with my Dad to his photography shoots for House and Garden magazine and cookbooks. I loved helping his stylist create the shots and organise the spaces to work visually for the photos.
Seeing such beautiful and successful spaces inspired me.

A trip around the world with my family when I was twelve was the beginning of my love affair with Europe, and more specifically, France.
After school I studied Interior Design and Decoration, set up my own business as a colour consultant and offered colour styling solutions for clients.
I also started my teaching degree at this time as I loved to work with children and young people. After travelling around Asia, I left Australia for an eight month trip to France. I stayed nine years!

Paris absolutely stole my heart away and I was completely unable to leave.
The breathtaking beauty, style, charm and intrigue of the city never lost its excitement for me. There I completed my education studies, taught French students about Australian design in the most highly regarded Design university in France, and possibly Europe, (l'Ecole Nationale Superiere des Arts Decoratifs), provided interior design and styling solutions to clients in Paris (often working with challenging space restrictions as is often the case in that city), helped clients declutter their lives, and had the privilege of teaching high school students how to design and create their own products from start to finish.
My time in France taught me to appreciate the variety of styles in European countries, but also to combine old, new, colourful and neutral in the quirky, stylish and unique Parisian way. Sourcing products for my clients meant going from tile or fabric shops to wandering through “marches aux puces” for old vintage treasures to combine with their new items.

For me, creating interior spaces is not just a job; it is an artful expression, a problem solving challenge, a chance to create happiness and joy for clients to experience again and again, and a way to create stories and emotions with material, form, shape and colour.
